Community Bank of the Bay
Established in Oakland in 1996 as California’s first Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) bank, Community Bank of the Bay is an independent, community-focused bank whose mission is to foster and promote economic development in the communities we serve. CBB has been awarded numerous awards from the federal CDFI Fund in recognition of our performance and impact serving distressed communities. CBB is an innovative Bank having created the Bay Area Green Fund (BAGF) in 2006 to promote environmental stewardship. The BAGF empowers clients to designate their deposits to be used only for businesses and projects that have a positive impact on the environment. One of the BAGF’s primary focus areas is to seek out lending opportunities that promote and support businesses engaged in Sustainable Food Systems.
